A Decade

Yes, that's right ... it's been a decade since Andrew and I started dating. And no, I am not starting over because we are married. It's been 10 years! No way am I about to start over.

A little history .... If I could only get some pictures on here ... I need a scanner.

I was 15 and Andrew was 16. We met in Mr. Mitchell's geometry class. In fact, Andrew sat right behind me because we had assigned seats based on our last names. Andrew moved down from New York that year and had the slightest hint of a northern accent, especially with the letter R. Mister was Mistah. He had this thick, dark curly hair and one of those smiles that would make a girl blush. (I can only imagine how cocky he will act after he reads this). Andrew would often play the game of not understanding an assignment and asked for my help. He knew what he was doing but I said yes.

We were both pretty shy when it came to dating. In fact, we needed a matchmaker. Yes, Chris ... that would be you! Andrew and Chris became really good friends through sports and Chris was in my Spanish class. Chris and I weren't the greatest of friends ... in fact, we pretty much did everything we could to irritate one another. Especially him. If you know Chris, he has this way with words and for some reason you can never have the last word. He's a word ninja. Anyway, Chris convinced Andrew to call and ask me out to the movies. I said yes.

It was a double date ... Andrew's brother Shaun had to drive us because Andrew didn't have his license. What movie you ask? Varsity Blues ... now that dates you back to 1999, huh? Shaun even had to buy our movie tickets because it was rated R. We were youngins' :-)

After the movie, Andrew walked me to the door and asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes.

Well, as you all know ... it's high school, boyfriends and girlfriends don't last forever. I broke up with him. Stupid me. I regretted it the day I did it. I did my best to apologize. I asked him to the Valentine's dance. He said yes.

I got all dressed up with two of my girlfriends and we made it a big group 'date'. The dance was held in the school cafeteria (this dance was offered to freshmen and sophomores because we weren't allowed to go to prom). Well, it was great ... I was hoping all night that Andrew would ask me to be his girlfriend again. He didn't.

But he did the next day. I said yes.

And it lasted until July 3, 2006 when he asked me to marry him. I said yes.

Here we are today ... 10 years later. And I'm still saying yes!!
