crashing waves

That is what I hear right now as I drink my cup of morning coffee. That's right, Andrew and I are on vacation. And you guessed it ... I forgot my USB cord to my camera so I can't post any pictures until I get back.

We are having a wonderful time with my parents ... there is a lot of relaxing going on in this big house. Mom and I have visited a few of the local beach shops while Dad and Andrew attempted some surf fishing. They are determined to catch some fish for dinner one night. But I have a feeling we will be going out instead. :-)

Louie loves the ocean ... I think she would stay out there all day if she could. She is beside herself and I think a bit overwhelmed with all of the water. Maybe we will try to teach her to surf.

There are so many pictures I wish I could post. But for now, you will just have to use your imagination.

I think today will consist of a little sunning on the porch with a good book.

Until next time ...

Orvis Rox!

Well, Louie has officially destroyed her dog bed. Her bed was designed for persistent chewers. Needless to say, Louie was very persistent.

I was a little hesitant to call the company it was ordered from (Orvis) because it's been over a year since my parents bought it for her and I couldn't find the original receipt. And I will go ahead and throw this out there - these beds are not cheap. But I was willing to throw down the money because it is by far the best bed she has ever had - and she's had about 5 in her two years of puppyhood. I am happy to say that the order was quickly found through the archives and a new bed is on it's way for my little chewer. Free of charge, no shipping fees, no questions asked. Orvis has the best customer service and they are true to their word.

Let's all just hope that this one lasts longer ... it seriously is the most durable bed she has ever had. Even though it only last a little over a year.

I will forever order from Orvis.

90's song of the week

I hope everyone enjoyed the post of my opinion of music now a days. Well that post inspired me to do a 90's song of the week for a little bit. I'm going to put up a song from my list of great 90's bands. Even though Shout Outs I have none, enjoy this weeks song.

Tag ... You're It!

okay ... taking this idea from a blog I stalk. And no, she doesn't know that I stalk her. She is a really great scrapbooker and I tend to get some really creative ideas from her.

Anyway ....

Here is the deal. This is for everyone who reads my blog and who blogs too. And if you don't blog ... quit just stalking me and create one! :-) I want to stalk you too! Go to your pictures folder and choose the sixth folder and then the sixth picture. Post it and give a brief description of your picture.

Here is mine -

Andrew drinking a beer. What a shock, huh? This picture was taken on our honeymoon in St. Lucia. We had just gotten to the resort and got our bags to our room. We really needed a drink. This was just the beginning. Our week consisted of alot of time in the pool at the swim up bar.

On such a rainy day like today, it makes me wish we were still there. It really is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been.

Waiting for the new era of "Rock" music !!!!

For some reason I have decided to post on "our" blog.
I have come to a realization recently.
I usually listen to my CD's on my way home from work, but I have had the radio on hoping for something new and fresh. That's when I realized something. We are waiting for this era's explosion of good music. Hopefully history, like always, will repeat itself. During each era there is that time when great music is made. In my opinion we are still waiting for that to happen in the 00's.
Since the 90's there has not been any great bands. Good bands, yes, but nothing great.
My theory is that we will have a big music explosion in the 00's. Something completely different and amazing will arise. Hopefully sooner than later because I'm sick of the crap on the radio.

Here is a list of bands from the 90's , in no particular order, that will make you wish we had the next big thing in music, now:
1. Nirvana
2. Pearl Jam
3. Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction / Porno for Pyros)
4. Sound Garden
5. Temple of the Dog
6. Stone Temple Pilots
7. Radio Head
8. Rage Against the Machine
9. Alice in Chains
10. Sublime

Now some of these bands are still together going strong. Just remember when they first came out, these bands were like nothing we have ever heard before. A lot of these bands were way ahead of their time.
