Thankful

I've decided to make a list of what I am thankful for. Some are on everyone's list, some are superficial, some I will need all my life, and some are just a phase. But I am thankful for each one of them ... some definitely more than others. So, here it is ... in no particular order.

the mister, family, friends, a roof over my head, Sweet Lou, the US Military, peppermint mochas, my fabulous baking skills, the ability to help others, good health, my mom's homemade vegetable soup, laughter, grits, creativity, the birthday quilt my grandmother made for me, fireworks, love, old pictures, snail mail, good books

So ... where is your list?

Happy Holidays to you and yours this holiday season.

The countdown is on!

I promise I have great intentions to keep this little journal of mine going. As of right now I have a few countdowns that I just have to get out!

ONE day until my sistah and I go see New Moon. Yes, I am mildly obsessed with the Twilight series. And yes, I am Team Edward 150%. ::swoons::

TWO days until it's time to head to the beach with all of the Raynor's! I cannot wait to pack up the car and spend some time with my family, walk on the beach, watch Miss Lou swim in her favorite "pool", and just relax. Me? Relax? I do I really need that? Yes, I do. There is just something about a vacation that just clears your mind and gives you a fresh new outlook on everything going on in your life. I could go for some of that right now. I've got two very long books packed and have every intention of finishing them while listening to the waves crash behind me.

SIX days until we head to Bryan and Amy's for a Rudy Thanksgiving. There is going to be quite the crowd! I've never had a Thanksgiving when I wasn't with my parents and sister so it's going to be a bit of an adjustment. But I am so excited to spend the day with Andrew's family. I love the holiday season, the smells, the food, the music, the weather, but most importantly the family. Speaking of family ... looks like Baby Boy Rudy is on his way ... congratulations Bryan, Amy, and Chase! We are beyond thrilled to be an aunt and uncle again to our newest nephew on the way.

Okay ... time to light my fall candle, get to packing, and start baking some pumpkin bread for the beach!

I will be blogging while at the beach and lots of photos will be posted too.

Much love and happiness to you and yours during this holiday season.

Shame on me.

I know, I know ... where in the world have I been? Well, ummm, you see, eehhh, hmmm ... okay, I have no excuse.

But the point is .... I'm back. Actually, we're back. After all, this blog is about us and not just me.

So, you ask what's been going on the past 2 months? Where should I begin?

How about here ....

Yep, we went on vacation in September to the Dominican Republic with BIL and SIL (Bryan and Amy). We booked our trip through CheapCaribbean.com. We got an extremely good deal and couldn't pass up the opportunity for a vacation.

Okay ... what's next ....

Andrew learned his fate with his job a few weeks ago. We are happy to announce that he has been given his own branch to run! Andrew is so excited for such a great opportunity and has some really great plans for his new team. He is going back to his roots and managing the branch where he was once a full time teller. Great things are yet to come!

Oh, yea ....

We also recently celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary. We decided to have a wonderful dinner at Cabo Fish Taco. If you live in the area and haven't been, GO! If you don't live in the area, come on in and we'll take you! It is delicious. We also went to see the Carolina Panthers lose to the Buffalo Bills. haha .. I sound like such a downer. We had such as awesome time, win or lose and I am dying to go back to another game.

What's going on with the house, you ask?

Well .... we have pulled some bushes along the back of the house and we're preparing to add a deck!! Mike ... come on down! We're ready! We have also decided that we are giving each other laminate flooring in the living room, entry hall, and dining room for birthdays/Christmas this year. I cannot wait!!! And yes, I have already picked out new furniture for the living room so we aren't a modge podge any longer. That's right ... we're turning into grown ups. Don't get me wrong, I do love the modge podge look. I'm just visualizing a new, fresh look. Stay tuned!

So, how was that for the quickest catchup ever?? You're welcome.
Stay tuned ... my mom and I have a big announcement! And that deserves a whole post dedication.
